1997 Vauxhall Astra LS HI-TORQ hatchback, here to get scrapped – MS9070

This old P REG Vauxhall Astra has arrived as a scrapper in Metro Salvage. Because the car is so old and does not run the only use we have for it is for the scrap metal. No longer a road legal car because it is of MOT. Needless to say it is never going to see another day on the road. It is now going to be put through a rigorous depollution process. All power sources such as batteries will be removed. Then all fuel and harmful chemicals such as oil and brake fluid are removed. Following that he tyres are put into a separate skip for collection and then last but not least the car is crushed into a cube.

This black Vauxhall Astra Sport 16V with a 1.6 litre petrol engine has just landed at our car breakers yard! This Astra is of the fourth generation ( MK4 ) was released in 1998 and ran a lengthy period until 2004 when the MK5 was released. The 1.6 litre Astra G produced 101 BHP when new but as this car has been battered a bit through its time. I am sure it is nowhere near the 101 BHP as it claims. Now this car will be broke for many car parts and sold to various exporters and private customers.

We love Vauxhalls at Metro Salvage car salvage yard Bolton. This Astra Envoy DTI has a 1.7 litre diesel engine. Once used by our local window cleaner is now ready for car heaven. With its busted cam shaft and enough miles on the clock to get you to the moon and back. The owner decided the astra van has had its day. Bought from new this van has been round the country on the odd jobs as well as the weekly window cleaning rounds and once was the must have van.

Check out this Vauxhall Astra Arctic in green with a 1.6 litre petrol engine, landed at our car breakers yard in Bolton! One question you may want to ask, “What is so Arctic about this Astra?” the answer is: the Astra was built in an igloo and runs off Eskimo urine! CO2, eat your heart out!

The car has entered our yard because of head gasket failure, possibly from the salty corrosion of the Eskimo urine (note to self, don’t buy an Eskimo central heating system!).
