1997 Vauxhall Astra LS HI-TORQ hatchback, here to get scrapped – MS9070
This old P REG Vauxhall Astra has arrived as a scrapper in Metro Salvage. Because the car is so old and does not run the only use we have for it is for the scrap metal. No longer a road legal car because it is of MOT. Needless to say it is never going to see another day on the road. It is now going to be put through a rigorous depollution process. All power sources such as batteries will be removed. Then all fuel and harmful chemicals such as oil and brake fluid are removed. Following that he tyres are put into a separate skip for collection and then last but not least the car is crushed into a cube.
2000 Vauxhall Astra Sport 16V in black at our car breakers yard in Bolton – MS9027
This black Vauxhall Astra Sport 16V with a 1.6 litre petrol engine has just landed at our car breakers yard! This Astra is of the fourth generation ( MK4 ) was released in 1998 and ran a lengthy period until 2004 when the MK5 was released. The 1.6 litre Astra G produced 101 BHP when new but as this car has been battered a bit through its time. I am sure it is nowhere near the 101 BHP as it claims. Now this car will be broke for many car parts and sold to various exporters and private customers.
2000 Vauxhall Tigra in aluminium/silver, in for car parts – MS9035
Although not the most popular car in the world the Vauxhall Tigra A raised quite a lot of interest with glass boot and funky shape when it was released in 1998 to early 1999. The Tigra A was the first of its kind around. Originally is was the concept car of the well-known Corsa B. The next generation of Tigra was the more glamorous Tigra Twin Top B. It was released in October 2004 and did surprisingly well with its sales because of the slick new look. Later in 2005 they decided to put a diesel engine in it. And for once the first one worked! But seen as the one we have is a W REG and it looks a little knackered. It is time to be depolluted and crushed for this old chariot.
2004 Vauxhall Astra Envoy DTI van diesel in blue, here to be destroyed
We love Vauxhalls at Metro Salvage car salvage yard Bolton. This Astra Envoy DTI has a 1.7 litre diesel engine. Once used by our local window cleaner is now ready for car heaven. With its busted cam shaft and enough miles on the clock to get you to the moon and back. The owner decided the astra van has had its day. Bought from new this van has been round the country on the odd jobs as well as the weekly window cleaning rounds and once was the must have van.
2003 Vauxhall Vectra Club 16V in black here for breaking – MS8910
Here is a 53 Vauxhall vectra that has come into our yard. This car has come in for breaking and it is a 1.8 16v engine. The complete car is in fairly good nick so there are many second hand car parts to be removed. This car will be put on one of our car racks awaiting the parts to be bought off it. This car was collected from our local area of Bolton. The engine is a Z18XE 121 BHP petrol, naturally aspirated.
