Car Scrappage Scheme
In the April 2009 Budget, the Government introduced the new car scrappage scheme to help boost care sales in the UK car market. The scheme runs up until March 2010 and allows owners of vehicles that are older than 10 years to trade it in and claim a £2000 discount on a new vehicle.
Who Is Eligible For the Car Scrappage Scheme (UK)
In order to take advantage of the government scrappage scheme vehicles that are traded in must be:
- A vehicel or van weighing up to 3500 kilograms
- Hold a current MOT certificate
- UK address on the registration certificate
- Registered in the UK before the 31st of August 1999
